I had no idea! I’ve read the Hitchhiker’s books before, and I knew it was performed for radio, but I always thought the book came first.
As for the radio version, the Primary Phase is a delight. The voice actors are all top notch, especially Stephen Moore as Marvin the Paranoid Android, and the writing was so ahead of its time for the 70s (and the 80s and 90s, for that matter). I would easily pay 30 Alterian dollars a day to listen to this again and again.
È il libro che consiglio di leggere a tutti, posso dire che ha rappresentato per me una parte importante della mia vita.
Lo rileggo spesso e non faccio a meno di divertirmi ogni volta.

Most of the fun stems from its unpredictability. There are also some hilarious quotes in here. But, besides its gags, it doesn't have a lot to offer. The only theme to it is that (human) life is largely insignificant. But it's only explored superficially. Especially when rereading, the book can become somewhat of a bore.

È un classico, che altro dire?! È scritto bene, storia originale e con un sacco di punti divertenti. Davvero interessante e pieno di spunti, molto interessato a proseguire la trilogia in 5 libri!

Io ho un debole per i libri folli, ma così folli da poter essere nati solo perché la probabilità si è stancata di essere tanto prevedibilmente probabile e si è fatta un giro nell'improbabilità. E meno male.
Di Guida galattica per gli autostoppisti posso dirvi che non contiene un'oncia di quella normalità quotidiana tanto rassicurante per noi esseri umani. Infatti, il motto che attraversa tutto il romanzo (e che rende la Guida galattica per gli autostoppisti così apprezzata nell'universo) è: non fatevi prendere dal panico.
Niente panico anche quando la vostra casa sta per essere demolita dall'oggi al domani per far spazio a una tangenziale. Niente panico quando il vostro pianeta sta per essere demolito per far spazio a un'autostrada iperspaziale. Niente panico quando da un pianeta leggendario vengono sparati due missili che distruggeranno la vostra navicella …

Riuscirete a ricordarvi perfino di prendere un asciugamano, strumento indispensabile per l'autostoppista (ma dove vai se l'asciugamano non ce l'hai?).
