Sarà per l'affetto che provo per il film che mi ha accompagnato da ragazzo, ma ho trovato questo libro, seppur semplice e con una trama abbastanza lineare, meraviglioso. Le rocambolesche avventure e i magnifici personaggi sono impressi a fuoco nella mia memoria e ammetto senza vergogna che ho versato qualche lacrima dopo aver letto la storia dei personaggi, che nel film non era stata inclusa. Per gli amanti del fantasy è un must read.

This is a romantic story about true love, fights and insidiousness, magic and wonder, staged in a ruritanian fantasy country somewhere in Europe.

I've read this book quite late in my live (and have not seen the film until now), so maybe some of the magic got lost in my immortal cynicism (this was written after I took the red pill).
