Hilary Bailey was an English novelist, editor, and critic; she was a recurring reviewer for The Guardian, authored a number of feminist novels such as Polly Put the Kettle On, A Stranger to Herself, and Miles and Flora: A Sequel to Henry James' The Turn of the Screw, and took part into the New Wave of British Science Fiction, especially as the editor of the anthologies series New Worlds Quarterly (itself a revival of the magazine New Worlds, which used to be edited by her then-husband Michael Moorcock).
