Its combina- tion of horrot% homicidal villainy, the fogs of remote Dartmoor, the Basker- ville Curse 'a great black beast shaped like a hound', are unforgettable and Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are at their best.
This the third or fourth read for me. The surprises are gone, but the read itself remains worthwhile.
